Unplugged

Learning to Live Outside the Noise
So, after a week of unplugging, I’m back. Yes, I know, you’re probably thinking, “Didn’t you survive without the constant stream of reels and notifications?” And to be honest, at first, it felt like FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), like I was missing something big. But in a flash, reality hit. I realized that I’ve already trained my brain to live in the moment. So, guess what? It was surprisingly easy. No stress over writing blogs and that felt pretty darn good.

But then came the big question. How could something I genuinely enjoy feel like a burden…. hmmm sometimes? This thought could easily spiral into a series of “what ifs” and “buts,” but hey, I’m going to stop myself there. I accept my decision to take a step back. And honestly, I’m smiling because I know I made the right choice.

Let’s get one thing straight, reconnecting with self isn’t always easy. At first, the silence will feel… well, awkward. Your mind will keep searching for something to grab onto, something to distract you from the quiet. The initial moments might feel boring or even unsettling. But believe me, if you’ve trained yourself to trust the process then bingo! you got this.

Now, let’s talk about something I realized during my unplugged week. We’ve got this thing called Wi-Fi, and it’s like a digital leash. It’s always there, connecting us to the virtual world, feeding us information 24/7. And while it’s great for staying connected with people, there’s also a downside. It’s like we’ve forgotten how to really live sometimes. We’re so hooked on checking our phones, scrolling endlessly, or responding to the next email or DM, that we forget what it means to just be. We’re not even living anymore; we’re just existing, caught in an endless loop of routines and virtual noise.

That digital noise? Yes! It dulls our shine. I mean, think about it. The more we engage with the virtual world, the less we engage with ourselves. Isn’t it? When was the last time you just sat in silence and thought about you? Not your to-do list. Not your messages. Just you.

Now, I’m not saying you have to go off the grid forever, let’s be real, I love a good reel as much as the next person. But every now and then, unplugging can be the best thing you do for yourself. It’s like hitting the reset button and reminding yourself that there’s more to life than scrolling. And let’s be honest, you deserve that moment of peace. Yes, it might feel a little strange at first. But the more you practice, the easier it gets.

So, what’s next? Go ahead, take a break. You don’t need permission. Just unplug, breathe, and believe!

(Will be off the grid next week, till then enjoy reading my next blogs)
